Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening
There’s no way around it: yellowing and stained teeth are something most people have to deal with at some point in their lives. While teeth naturally lose their whiteness as we age, smoking, drinking coffee or tea, and certain medications can exacerbate discoloration. Luckily, teeth whitening is an effective, affordable solution to this problem. DDS Group offers both advanced in-office bleaching treatments as well as customized at-home bleaching kits. Both options are stronger than store-bought whitening solutions, meaning you’ll see more dramatic results in a shorter amount of time.

Invisalign®

Invisalign®
Metal braces used to be the only option for straightening teeth and correcting jaw misalignments. With Invisalign, you can straighten your teeth without drawing attention to your orthodontic treatment. This state-of-the-art system uses custom-made plastic aligners that are virtually invisible to gently shift your teeth into place over time. The aligners are removable, making eating your favorite foods, brushing, and flossing much easier. Rather than getting wires tightened at the orthodontist’s office every few weeks, you’ll switch to a new set of aligners every two weeks until your treatment is complete. While Invisalign is not a fit for every orthodontic case, the system has advanced to the point where it can be used for most patients.

Clear Aligner

Clear Aligners

It’s never too late to straighten your smile! Clear aligner technology offers a comfortable and affordable orthodontic solution without the look and feel of traditional metal braces. You just switch to a new set of aligners as directed by your doctor until treatment is complete.

Veneers & Lumineers®

Dental Veneers
Porcelain veneers are a solution for patients who are unhappy with the color, shape, or size of their teeth. They can even be used to correct minor cases of misalignment. We first remove a thin layer of enamel from your tooth, then apply a dental adhesive for the veneer to adhere to. An ultraviolet light cures the adhesive and you’re ready to enjoy your new smile.

Cosmetic Bonding

Cosmetic bonding is used to correct teeth that are chipped, cracked, or otherwise damaged. We can also use bonding to close gaps between two teeth. During the bonding process, a tooth-colored resin is applied to the tooth and shaped for a natural appearance. The resin is cured with an ultraviolet light, setting it before you leave our office.

Microabrasion

Microbrasion
If teeth whitening using bleaching treatments is not an option for you, consider microabrasion instead. This technique minimizes or even eliminates surface staining and yellowing by removing a thin layer of enamel from the tooth.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cosmetic Dentistry

Is cosmetic dentistry painful?
While it depends on the treatment you’re getting, most cosmetic dentistry is performed on the outermost layer of enamel, which means it doesn’t cause any pain or require local anesthesia. When a procedure does have the potential to cause pain, like veneer preparation, we will numb your mouth first.
How can I get white teeth in one day?
The only way to achieve noticeable results in a single day is with professional in-office teeth whitening treatments. While over-the-counter whitening kits can be effective for minor stains and discoloration, the formulations are not as strong as those used at our office, which means you’ll need to wait weeks for results.
Why are my teeth yellow when I brush them everyday?
Poor oral hygiene isn’t the only reason why your teeth might be yellow—even the most diligent brushers and flossers can deal with tooth discoloration and staining. Tobacco use, drinking coffee, tea, or red wine, and certain medications can all cause your teeth to yellow. Even the natural aging process leads to thinner enamel and yellower teeth.
How long does it take to straighten your teeth with Invisalign?
The most important factor that determines length of treatment is the amount of correction needed—the more your teeth need to shift, the more aligners you will need and the longer you’ll need treatment. The average Invisalign treatment for adults is 6-9 months.
Is Invisalign® better than braces?
Both Invisalign® and traditional braces straighten teeth and correct bite issues, but most patients prefer Invisalign because the system is easier, more comfortable, and discreet. You’ll be able to continue to eat your favorite foods and brush and floss like you normally would. Adults in particular love Invisalign because no one even knows they’re undergoing orthodontic treatment! And most important, Invisalign is a better treatment!
Do veneers ruin your teeth?
Unlike dental crowns, most veneers only require a small amount of enamel to be removed for placement, so they do not compromise the health or structure of your teeth. That said, once the enamel is removed, you’ll always need dental veneers—you can’t decide that you no longer want to have veneers and get them removed, because you won’t have the tooth enamel needed to protect the fronts of your teeth.
Who is a good candidate for veneers?
Veneers are an excellent choice for anyone who is unhappy with the appearance of their smile, but their teeth and gums are otherwise healthy. Veneers can be used to correct a wide range of imperfections, from stains to teeth alignment.
Is dental bonding permanent?
No, dental bonding isn’t permanent, but depending on the location of your bonding it can last up to 5-10 years with proper care.
